openworld onsite media
Nov 17 2007, 7:37 AM EST hey... looking for comments/feedback/reactions re: Oracle OpenWorld media: video feeds, keynote presos, webcasts, installed media, marketing-related eye candy. did anyone view keynotes from a satellite venue, such as the Hilton, Yerba Buena Theater, Palace, or St Francis? what about webcasts? youtube? partner sites? what was the general feeling about the sms projections in the keynote hall? any descriptive adjectives come to mind? was the visual content at OpenWorld represented in an effective manner? did the technology serve the message or was the message subservient to the technology? bring it! db hit me! 2 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: openworld onsite media
Nov 18 2007, 2:32 AM EST David, I have *never* watched a keynote from the keynote hall itself. Probably the best place to watch a keynote is from the Oracle PartnerNetwork lounge, but I've also watched keynotes from the OTN lounge (that's where I saw Andy Mendelsohn's keynote this year, beer in hand), from the Moscone South 1xx rooms, and from the hall that connects Moscone North and South. The TV monitors give you a good view of the presentation itself, but you do miss some things. For example, this year I watched Larry Ellison's keynote from the OPN lounge, and if it wasn't for the tweets on @oow, I wouldn't have realized that a large portion of the audience walked out when Ellison left the stage. (Not sure why...) 2 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: openworld onsite media
Jan 17 2008, 1:52 PM EST Hi David- Think the site is very clean, and has great information. My one comment is that it could be more dynamic in presentation. For example, could the "Conference Highlights" area have flash-type elements that introduces you to OpenWorld and NEW features of the event or site (might make it feel more interactive)? Again, just my two cents. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |
