Creating an Enterprise Linux Guest - Errors
Nov 16 2007, 6:06 AM EST Sucessfully installed server and manager. But I can't get a guest created. I am running a paravirtualised environment on a Dell PE2800 with 2 x Xeons. 1. Trying to install Enterprise Linux 4 - Downloaded latest DVD ISO - NFS mounted it and checked that it can be read manually. I've tried using OVM Manager, I have supplied all the details - It says creating then reverts to error (No mention of what that error may be or how to find out what it is) - Anyone discovered any log files? Tried creating it manually using virt-install Get: error creating domain 'Invalid Kernal','xc_dom_find_loader: no loader found; Anyone any ideas. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Creating an Enterprise Linux Guest - Errors
Nov 16 2007, 4:07 PM EST we will put up a note on this. you would need to boot with a paravirt kernel and you are just booting with a regular kernel which will fail. we are trying our hardest to get the webpages up for peole to download pre-created PV images and kernels. just working through the website folks to get that done soon and then we will add a link on this wiki page to that. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: Creating an Enterprise Linux Guest - Errors
Nov 20 2007, 3:59 AM EST For para, EL4U5/EL5 supports such booting paravirt kernel. You can download those iso and do the creation with paravirtual. For trouble-shooting, you can get all agent logs on the VM servers(/var/log/ovs-agent/) and Manager log in /var/log/ovm-manager on Oracle VM Manager server. 2 out of 2 found this valuable.
