Looks like instead of supporting VMWare, Oracle take on VMWare by entering into virtualization software market.http://www.portfolio.com/news-markets/national-news/reuters/2007/11/12/oracle-adds-virtualization-as-vmware-shares-fall At same time, Oracle seems clean house VMware from their website, for example, they used to have so called Oracle-on-Linux VMware Tool Kits. (VMware virtual machine image of Oracle) Now totally gone. Check following website cache from google. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:R8ul1DaYnd4J:www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/vmware/index.html+vmware+oracle&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us 2 out of 2 found this valuable. "Where can we download the pre-built Oracle Database VMs from ?"You can take pre-build VM images from this blog: http://dsvolk.blogspot.com/2009/01/oracle-vmware-images-collection.html All you need is VMWare player + downloaded image file. The Blog text is in russian, but i think, all will be clear. If not, try to user google translator: http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdsvolk.blogspot.com%2F2009%2F01%2Foracle-vmware-images-collection.html&sl=ru&tl=en&history_state0= Do you find this valuable? |

Oracle Partners can purchase VMs built on VMware and MS Virtual Server (note: not Oracle VM!) at http://www.vlamis.com/bic2g. These VMs have Hyperion EPM and Oracle BI Applications already loaded into the VMs. The VMs use MS Windows Server 2003 as the OS. That's the big difference: since Windows is the OS, both the client side and server side of the software is all there. These are the same VMs that Oracle SCs use for demonstrating the software.
