Go to http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage and select the correct installation guide document based on your platform.

At the point "Running Oracle Universal Installer" the instructions fail. Even thou RHEL5 and 10g are a certified combination the installer wont start. One way to bypass the problem is to issue:

./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs
