Might seem too simple, but
* have you verified correct file associate for word docs?
* is word registered on the pc?
- Double click any word doc - does it open in word?
- If this is set correctly, I'd open word and click HELP and REPAIR (keep in mind, it might ask for your original word CD) Do you find this valuable?
