You can change you output options from Word to PDF. That may be the best way to solve the problem. This will at least get the documents to publish. Let me know if it doesn't work. You can find lots of UPK tips at www.larrysherrod.comEnjoy 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Thanks for the tip. I did try the PDF option and get the exact same message about installing Word even though I change the output option. I have Adobe Acrobat 7.

Have you checked the output folder you are publishing too? It may be that it published the pdfs anyway, yet still gives the error.

It looks like it starts the training manual because I can find the folder with the PNG images (the screenshots), the HTML document for the procedures page with the appropriate text and even a word document with a space for the title and another word document with the Oracle copyright. Only thing missing is the PDFs.

Try unchecking some of the documents in the Publish options. Unless you realy need the training manual or instructor guide, I wouldn't select them. It really slows down publishing. BTW, how many UPK topics are you trying to publish? If it is more than 50, it can take quite a while.

Tried publishing just the job aid and also the documents plus the player. I get the exact same message no matter what selections I make/don't make. Have Opened a Service Request with Oracle and they say they have this problem with another client. I will update you with their results. All your help is much appreciated.

Oracle says it does not support Word 2000 document format publishing. Also does not support Word 2007 publishing to PDF format. I am trying to get Word 2003 installed, seems like a good bet? We'll see...I will post if it works!

Might seem too simple, but* have you verified correct file associate for word docs? * is word registered on the pc? - Double click any word doc - does it open in word? - If this is set correctly, I'd open word and click HELP and REPAIR (keep in mind, it might ask for your original word CD) Do you find this valuable? |

Installation of Word 2003 fixed the problem. Oracle does not support Word 2000 for UPK document format publishing.
