"invalid user or group" for OAM identity server installation

hi,
i have downloaded OAM 10.1.4.0.1 for Linux system and trying to install its first component OAM identity server.
to start the installation command used is " /home/oracle/Desktop/OAM/Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_1_linux_Accsss_Server"
at the first stage i have to enter user and group
Enter the username the identity server is running as [nobody]
Enter the Group for the above username [nobody]
but, as i enter user and group for the installation it prompts an error message "invalid user or group" and does not proceed for the further installation
i have tried out the many user and gorups listsed in "user manager".
the operating system i am using is "Fedora 8"
do i have to enter some specific values?
or do something before starting the installation as i will be using "Oracle Virtual Directory"?
or do i need to start any server before installation?
where do the installer looks for the user and group for installation?
someone please help me out for this installation....
Thank you...
