I'm having a problem installing Oracle9i on Vista!

I tried to install oracle 9i on windows vista but not succeed. Can anyone please tell me what to do? Or what is the compatible version of oracle 9i on windows vista. I keep getting JRE was not found. To be precise here is the message I was getting: “The Java run Time Environment was not found at C:\...\jre\bin\jrew.exe. Hence, the Oracle universal Installer cannot be run. Please visit sttp://www.javasoft.com and install JRE Version 1.1.7 or higher and try again” I have installed JRE version 1.6.0 and is enabled in the machine I’m trying to install Oracle9i. Can anyone help me figure out the problem? Thanks 10 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

Given that Oracle made a special release of 10gR2 to get it to work with Vista, I would be very very surprised if you got something as old as 9i to work with Vista.If there any reason you can't start with something known to be compatible? 1 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |
