Tracking Oracle License usage
Jul 10 2008, 9:50 AM EDT
I need a better method for tracking license consumption of my Oracle apps and technology. I am not attempting to track at a user level, but just what I own vs what I have allocated. This is especially needed for the supporting technology since there are so many servers and instances involved. I have looked for tools to purchase, but those are mostly associated with desktop installs. Before I build my own spreadsheet/database tool I thought I would reach out to the greater Oracle community. Walleyebandit 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi,Oracle itself is using the the Oracle Application Audit Function to monitor the user and the application used. The function will be enabled on Responsibility level and will record the users who are logged onto Apps. This data can be analyzed to determine the usage of Oracle Apps. Oracle Licence management services used this for a licence usage review for Oracle Apps Hope this helps Thomas Do you find this valuable? |
