My understanding is that Oracle Express Edition (XE) is the only one whose license agreement allows 3rd party training. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Not legally; you would need a license. What aspect of Oracle do you need that isn't in XE?

Though, if you truly need Oracle SE or SEO, don't worry about the price too much; Oracle has special academic-use pricing: For more information, see the following site:

Well, I doubt Oracle is going to get upset about that. Still, you should review the terms. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

True..i dont think oracle would be upset. If this is not part of your curriculum i think it would be beneficial for oracle that youd be introducing oracle to you class. Licensing oracle thou with give you other benefits. One would be access to oracle resources that are only available for partners or end-users who has license agreement with oracle. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

When I worked for Oracle University they would actively pursue anyone using Oracle for education purposes without proper licenses. Now this before the Oracle Express Edition existed, Best to be safe and check with an Oracle rep. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Check the Oracle OTN site at technet.oracle.com, the licence there says the software you download cannot be used for 3rd party training, It can only be used for your personal self and for development so it is called a development licence.
