Berkeley data base have a probelm
Mar 6 2008, 10:23 AM EST
I have a very serious problem with a Berkeley data base.

The system is like oracle data base system, but for embedded systems.

The problem is that when I need to empty one of data dase (in xxxx.db files), the xxxx.db file doesn't reduce it's size.
But I can see how those records disappear of the data base.

How is this possible?

Please respond as soon as posible.

Thanks.

The Berkeley data base is not at all like Oracle, and asking this on an Oracle wiki site is not likely to get much response. I've never used BDB, but I do happen to know the answer to this. The space is empty after you delete all the records and can be used for future inserts, but it is not released back to the OS for performance reasons. To get details on this, try a Google search. 0  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?
