Adding Template to VM Server
Feb 14 2008, 10:36 PM EST I installed the VM Server: Oracle VM server release 2.1 Hypervisor running in 32 bit mode . Network : Management Interface : If : eth0(Up) Mac : 00:0B:DB:94:8F:6B IP address : 10.254.254.145 Configured Networks and Bridges : If : eth0 Mac : 00:0B:DB:94:8F:6B If : eth1 Mac : 00:0B:DB:94:8F:6C If : xenbr0 Mac : FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF If : xenbr1 Mac : FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF CPU : cpu family : 15 model : 2 model name : Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz I then downloaded a template OVM_EL4U5_X86_HVM_4GB.tgz and placed it on a directory. $ tar -xvzf OVM_EL4U5_X86_HVM_4GB1.tgz ./OVM_EL4U5_X86_HVM_4GB/ ./OVM_EL4U5_X86_HVM_4GB/vm.cfg ./OVM_EL4U5_X86_HVM_4GB/system.img gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--format violated Read from remote host vmsvr2: Connection reset by peer Connection to vmsvr2 closed. The machine freezes up via my ssh connection. In addition, at the console login, when I type "root" at the login prompt I get a "Login incorrect", and no password prompt. I can do a "CTRL-ALT-DEL" to get it to reboot, but when it comes back up, there's quite a few failures. I still can't login. If I do the rescue disk thing, what should I look for and troubleshoot? 0 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |
