R12 : eAM and Assets

Hi Everyone,
What is the relationship between assets and eAM in R12? Change in something the functionality? (comparing with R11?

In R12 the assets from eAM and FA assets have the same relationship as they had in 11i (a pointer). The added functionlity is you have the eAM asset as an IB (install base) and we can transfer an eAM asset from one org to another. When you do that you have the ability to also transfer that FA asset to another "location". Hope this helped! You know my number! 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

The functionality works if you have Asset tracking turned on (OAT). When you link the eAM asset with the FA Asset, and perform the Org transfer of an Inventory org item it will automatically prompt you with - Do you want to transfer the FA asset?.
