Using Oracle Products and Tools for Data Governance and SOA Governance
Dec 6 2007, 2:16 PM EST | Post edited: Dec 6 2007, 2:16 PM EST
I'm developing a mthodology, framework, and processes for coordinating Data Governance and SOA Governance more comprehensively than most organizations currently do, as a part of integrating EDM and SOA strategies, as this is an emerging need for many enterprises (I won't go into detail here as to why). I'm further looking to tie in the appropriate Oracle (or other) prooducts and tools that make this a practical methodology w/ supporting tools, templates, etc. My questions to you are:
- What Oracle products and tools do you use to facilitate your Data Governance and your SOA Governance activities, processes and checkpoints? How are you using these (as much detail as you can share)?
- What other (non-Oracle) tools do you use for these Governance activities?
- What are the strengths, weaknesses, and gaps of these tools (i.e. opportunities for Oracle, etc.)?

I am also interested in this question. Were you able to pull anything together on this?

I have some but not great content around this in terms of Oracle product interactions and support. I have developed thre methodology, framework, and maturity model that more generally applies to any major enterprise and platform. I presented this at Training Days in February and will be presenting further evolved material on this again at Collaborate 08. However, I am still looking for guidance on how this EDM - SOA coordination can be facilitated on an Oracle platform with Oracle tools for Data Governance, SOA Governance, Master Data Mgmt, Metadata Mgmt, etc. Let me know if you have something here you can share. Thanks. 0  out of 6 found this valuable. Do you?

I think our goals are very much aligned. However, I am just starting to develop this and was looking for previous efforts to piggy-back on and not re-invent the wheel. Btw, I am a Sales Consultant with Oracle and I have several customers asking for this type of information.

So, if you don't mind sharing what you have I will try to build it out and share it back with you.
thanks,
