About Designer

Have you ever asked why is Designer still so archaic? Along the many versions of this fantastic database, this basic tool seems to be the same!! Is a little obsolete in comparison with other databases, I think Oracle should have a modern IDE to build the basics... the database!
It seems Oracle forgets this aspect or simply they don't mind... they have a great DBMS, but what about the database designers?
Please guys invest some little cash on developers to improve Designer, we will be very thankful.

Regards

As I hear it from Oracle, the official line is that you can do data modelling just fine in JDeveloper (and as of 10g/11g, it actually works).

The things you lose compared to Designer is a database-stored repository (JDev uses XML files) and the possibility to have separate logical and physical models.
