Creating an Enterprise Linux Guest - Errors
Sucessfully installed server and manager. But I can't get a guest created.
I am running a paravirtualised environment on a Dell PE2800 with 2 x Xeons.
1. Trying to install Enterprise Linux 4 - Downloaded latest DVD ISO - NFS mounted it and checked that it can be read manually.
I've tried using OVM Manager, I have supplied all the details - It says creating then reverts to error (No mention of what that error may be or how to find out what it is) - Anyone discovered any log files?
Tried creating it manually using virt-install
Get:
error creating domain 'Invalid Kernal','xc_dom_find_loader: no loader found;
Anyone any ideas.

ETA on Windows paravirtualized drivers?
I'm just hoping somebody can provide an estimate on when these will be out. We are needing to start virtualizing some loads pretty soon. Have been actively looking at ESX, XenServer and Virtual Iron, but this product sounds like a contender. However, we are a Windows shop and without paravirtualized drivers, the performance penalties make Oracle VM a no go. Any ideas on how long we'll have to wait?

Fedora 7 and OC4J Extended
Well i can report from the Fedora side that oc4j_extended or stand-alone appears to be up and working well. There is a bit of an oddity with deploying from Eclipse (work dictated) but i think that is a user problem more than anything else. Stats:
Fedora 7, Gnome 2.x, JDK - 1.4.2.x OC4J stand-alone/extended v. 10.1.2.0.2 - JPDK added - $ORACLE_HOME=/home/[user]/oc4j_extended/...

How do I manage virtual CD drives?
Win2003 EE comes with two CDs and does reboots during the setup process. After the first reboot, the VM doesn't seem to find the CD again and I couldn't find any way to swap CDs.
Ouch! Just found it when I resized the VNC window! It's hidden below the console. Perhaps Firefox doesn't do the window sizing quite like "the other browser".
One thing I noticed, though: The ISO image is not persistent across reboots. VMM just choses the latest ISO uploaded (which happend to be a VISTA image) so setup complained it couldn't find it's data.

Importing vm's
I'm trying to import some existing vm's but having a problem getting the images to show up in the "Virtual Machine Image Name" in the Import wizard. I think this is because my modified vm.cfg is in the wrong place, but I can't find anything in the docs about the path where this file should be put. Any help would be appreciated! :)

Installation issues...
Well - I hit a snag already. I installed the VM Server disk - and then started to install the VM Manager disk (mounted the CD which I created from the ISO and ran sh runinstaller.sh sh) - and received an error stating "libaio package (rpm) is missing. Please install this prerequisite first". Can someone point out the directions so I can install this ?

Installation Woes
Mi Oracle VM manager install keeps blowing up with a "testDatasourceConnectionPool failed:" error at the stage represented by the
