Oracle OpenWorld Unconference Session

Session Title : Table Partitioning in 11g
Presenter: Daniel Morgan
Time : 4 pm

Date : 11/12

Location : Moscone West 3rd Floor Overlooks
Room: Overlook 2

Session Description:
Oracle Database 11g has added some fantastic new capabilities that support partitioning for very large databases. Among these new capabilities are new types of composite partitioning, interval partitioning, partitioning by reference, and partitioning based upon the creation of virtual columns.

This session will take a hands-on approach and will be presented in a slide free zone entirely in SQL*Plus. Each table type will be built, its metadata examined in the data dictionary, and its usage and functionality demonstrated.

Presenter: Daniel Morgan, author of Morgan's Library on the web, is an Oracle Ace Director and the author and primary instructor of the Oracle program at the University of Washington in Seattle. Daniel is the Education Chairman of the Puget Sound Oracle Users Group, a member of UKOUG, and has presented at OpenWorld (2005), at the UKOUG's annual conference (2006) and at numerous user group meetings and conferences.
