What is Semantic web?
Though many definitions on Semantic Web are out there, this Introduction to Semantic web is very concise, I liked it. Some even call this as web 3.0 phenomenon - but are we in web 2.0 yet?
Oracle and Semantic Web
Oracle's support to the semantic web technology started in 10gR2. Semantic web requires a RDF (Resource Description Framework) data store (or graph store) for storing metadata about web resources. Oracle exploited its existing spatial infrastructure and started offeringRDF store (with all usual goodies - scalability, securtiy, availability etc). With 11g release, Oracle substantiated its support to semantic web by adding/enhancing semantic web APIs,separate documentation etc., well positioned to become a leading RDF store provider.
