I understand that this is possible; but, have been unable to do so successfully. We'd like to have the users log in to the portal, access their HCM or FSCM components, initiate reports & pick up the reports from both HCM & FSCM in the Portal Report Manager. We've managed to get everything working except the ability to access the reports in the Portal Report Manager.
For example, the user can initiate a report in FSCM and the Process Scheduler & Distribution Agent will correctly place the report in the Portal Report Repository. When the user then tries to access the report through the Portal Report Manager they are unable to do so. We've got the messaging configured so that the report shows up as a link; but, the link won't work. A related issue that we envision is the collision of Process Scheduler Instance Numbers & Report Numbers between HCM & FSCM as both systems place reports in a central portal Report Repository. We've looked for documentation on configuring this but have yet to find any. If any of you have got this working, we'd really appreciate hearing how you got it to work! TIA, tdw

There has been a lot of mis-information out there about the Enterprise Portal. It falls under Oracle's Applications Unlimited strategy, and we are continuing to enhance it just like other PS apps. The PeopleSoft portal is distinguished by being a functional portal. That is, it provides capabilities beyond simply aggregating and managing content. Chief among these are Collaborative Workspaces, which includes such things as discussion groups, group calendaring, content publishing, discussion forums, group links, team events, polling, email integration and team action items. The EP also supports the latest standards, so it can publish and consume content with any WSRP/JSR compliant source. It's tighty integrated with PS apps, and is very easy to deploy. The best prospects for this product are customers that have a strong PeopleSoft portfolio which they want to better integrate and improve the business processes across applications.
