SQL Plus
1. For Windows, the timing given by the SET TIMING ON command are given in microseconds (1/1,000ths of a second)
2. For Unix, the timing given by the SET TIMING ON command are given in the form HH:MM:SS.ss (2 decimal places of seconds)

Oracle RDBMS 9i +
1. The timings given on the parameters on DB calls for e= (elapsed), and on WAIT calls for ela= (elapse) are in milliseconds (1/1,000,000ths of a second)

Oracle RDBMS 7, 8
1. The timings given on the parameters on DB calls for e= (elapsed), and on WAIT calls for ela= (elapse) are in centiseconds (1/100ths of a second)
