If you have questions, please contact John Yopp (john.yopp@oracle.com).Oracle Retail Workspace (ORW) is a retail-specific next-generation portal, providing an integrated, targeted user experience for interacting with Oracle Retail applications and data. It is a free product for Oracle Retail customers, but requires underlying technology products such as Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Single Sign-On, etc.
| Uniquely enables you to: | via these capabilities: |
| Launch Oracle Retail applications | Central, SSO launch of Oracle Retail applications |
| Provide Oracle Retail decision support | Role and Functionality based dashboards |
User experience integration The tools a retailer needs throughout their day can be scattered, and can change from day to day. Having a central hub for launching all tools for supporting the retail workday helps raise productivity.
- Providing Retail workday hub from which to launch all retail related workflows and obtain all retail related data.
- Ability to create role and functionality based dashboards for bringing disparate data and applications together for integrated decision support.
Application centralization Applications and reporting tools needed throughout a retailer’s workday each require separate logins, separate passwords, and launch from different locations. ORW provides a central point to launch all tools for the retail workday, allowing a single login with a single password, despite each application maintaining a separate storage of users. This provides productivity by making applications easily accessible, especially those used rarely, and by masking the natural variety of passwords in a retail environment.
- Single sign-on for applications, reports, and reporting tool
- Central launch of applications
- Central listing of applications for user and role
Decision support While the data for decisions exists in many of the reporting tools and applications it can be difficult to find the right information for the right problem. By providing the ability to target combinations of reports and data for roles and functionality ORW provides understandable BI to more levels of the enterprise.
- Ability to create role-based dashboards that provide:
- Targeted operational reports for specific roles and responsibilities
- Targeted analytical reports for specific roles and responsibilities
- Grouping of data in one place for alerting users to exceptions, researching the issue, and then launching the resolution.
- Display of only the reports available to the individual user
- All reports available from one navigation bar
