The Oracle Real Application Clusters Special Interest Group (RAC SIG) is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and networking opportunities for its members. The RAC SIG was started in 2003 with five founding board members and an Oracle Liaison. Today, there are four board members (all founding members) and the group has over 1,000 members signed up through its website at http://www.oracleracsig.org/.
The group provides a valuable, centralized document library with past presentations, cookbooks, and how-to documents in addition to an archive containing recordings of all past webcasts since 2004. These past webcasts are available for playback on demand and new webcasts are added at the rate of 1-2 per month on average. The SIG members also monitor the Grid Computing forums on the Oracle Technology Network and help answer questions frequently.
Joining the RAC SIG is free and easy by using the online registration form to provide some information about your environment. The group strongly encourages participation from its members and facilitates networking and panel events at both the Oracle OpenWorld conference in the US autumn and the Collaborate conference in the US spring time. In the meantime, the webcast series is always running and you're encouraged to contact one of the board members with your webcast suggestion at any time.
