Solution
The main points to bear in mind when attempting to install Oracle E-Business Suite on a Windows-based system are:

  1. All directory names used BOTH to read the programs and to write the files should NOT have any spaces in the names
  2. All user names under which the installation takes place should NOT have any spaces
  3. Due to the number of files, the file system that the programs and datafiles are being loaded on to must be NTFS. Other file systems such as FAT32 cannot contain the number of files in a directory without throwing an exception.
