i am trying to migrate from 8i/2000 server to 10g/ centos .
i woul like to have dataguard,RMAN in new environment.
it throws error in standby database -ora-01153.
meanwhile now the redo not transported to standby.

kann mich vielleicht jemand helfen? Ich habe eine oracle free version (10 g)downgeloaded aber es funktioniert nicht. Als ich die Datenbank hochlade bekomme ich eine meldung über ein Listener. Was ist das? Gib's eine Lösung?

Since the mid 80's starting Helix for the Mac, I have been working on concepts for organizing all the structure of IT. The responsibility and authority for creation, maintenance and access of every bit of the information in a company would be based on tables, sort of meta meta data. When organizations reorg, not an uncommon event, all of the responsibility and authority would automatically be reorged also. This "day dreaming" has continued towards paperless and cashless business. Now with Fusion 11g and AWS EC2 this becomes practical and indeed desireable. This whether starting with a company from scratch or a M&A reorg. It makes Fusion and "The Cloud" the basis for inter and intra company communication from requisitioning people to acquiring a new facility populated with people, equipment and IT. This is not you fathers Enterprise Application Integration.
Anybody interested in following this thread, I would love to hear your thoughs Here or anywhere respond. Oracle for non too subtle reasons could be the center of bringing this brainstorming to reality.

I'm not sure if I understand your question; but I will say much of the info I interpret you to want is found in the V$ views. These are well documented, and can be found on the Net.

Hi,
New to the Oracle WIKI, but I want to be able to store files on a data store and have them accessible to the Oracle community (customers and internal employees) who access the WIKI.
My question is does anyone know of, or recommend any particular file store? (Must be scalable, and afford public access).
I've heard I-projects mentioned and have also got some information about www/box.net but would be interested in your experience of using these, or any other file stores.
In particular:
Does Oracle recommend or prohibit use of any file store?
Does Oracle already have a corporate subscription for a particular file store?
Have you encountered any issues with storage limits or max file sizes for file stores that you use?

Hi, We have an NMS Product, with Back End Plain Java Application Server & Tomcat Web Front end Server. Our primary database reference platform was MySQL and now we are moving to Oracle 11g (Standard Edition). We want to develop light weight OSS features with Oracle workflow which was available by default. Can I install the work flow server on 11g and develop workflow services for user to system processes? Can I deploy the work flow on Tomcat which will interface with my BE services? Oracle BPM solutions will be an overkill for my short term requirements??? Any comments

Hi to all, When i started to learn oracle with a limited information about its oracle support to forms i was a happy user of oracle forms, but i never knew oracle will end the support to forms or even to move java technologies leaving pl/sql forms behind as compare to other oracle technologies and i waste my time for one year out of city with so many problems and when i know about oracle has finished support to oracle form specially client/server(My favourite) i was sad and decided to move .net technologies towards vb.net(desktop) and asp.net(web) which are too easy and unlimted support by microsoft and low cost web server than oracle. I just want to say to new oracle developers to leave oracle technologies and come in the world of microsoft with latest supported tools than oracle.

Mr rofi. I read your comments i totly agree with you. Iam fail to understand why oracle leave oracle forms support even it had a very successfull stories in past. Thanks to microsoft for vb.net and asp.net easy development and deployment. Oracle froms developer must leave to use oracle developer tools and must move to .net technologies.

I am a sysadmin in Annapolis MD, I have a W2K3 server that locks up whenever the Oracle DBConsole service is started. Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, What was your solution?

Please use Oracle IMP, e.g. imp <schema>/<password>@<sid> touser=<schema> tables=(<table_name_1>,...,<table_name_n>) ignore=Y file=<export_filename>.dmp log=import.log For help type imp -?

Some customers cannot view pages with Adobe 9.xx.. Only page one of pdf file is visble, created with Oracle 10gR2 AS Reports Service.
Adobe 8.xx reader an older works fine.
Is this a known problem?
