Estalishing a common language and business model for the Communications industry has been a mission of mercy for the past 20 years. Thorugh the efforts of Oracle (previously MetaSolv), working with the Telecommunications Forum or TMF, we have made tremendous progress. The TMF promotes a model called SID (Shared Information and Data model). The Communications Information Model (CIM) is emerging as an Oracle response to the communications industry to bring the SID into broad-based practical realization.
