HI Tad,

Attached some older docs that you may find helpful. Remember, these are older docs, but should get you in ballpark.

Server size is dependant on how many concurrent users that will be on at the same time, i.e. 14, or 45, or 450? This is Telnet (Mobile Apps) users only. The MWA runs on the middle tier, and can typically run on the same tier as the Apps (NOT DB). When setting up ports for the mwa server, you use a very conservative number like 15 users per port, and then use the Dispatcher to round robin load balance between those ports. Example, 45 users = 3 mwa telnet servers, 1 dispatcher. telnet servers on ports 10200, 10212, 10214. Dispatcher set up to port 10500 and will round robin distribute load between each of the 3 you set up. (note: must be 2 ports allowed as spacing between servers, 3 between dispatcher ports, so dispatcher set up on port 10500 will use 10500, 10501, 10502, but ALL devices will be set to port 10500. This will result in 1st user logging into Dispatcher port 10500 being dispatched to 10200, next user 10212, next user 10214, next user 10200, etc. repeat.)

Are you using MSCA or WMS? (WMS also uses MSCA Telnet Mobile Forms, but add some functionality and new screens)

See quick reference guide attached, and get latest implementation guide off of Metalink, such as “Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications Implementation Guide” (2005) Part No. B10938-02 and “MWA Server and Dispatcher Configuration Quick Start Reference” in Oracle Inventory White Papers Template Doc ID 72450.1 for Dispatcher setup and configuration.

4945477: Mobile Applications Telnet GUI Client Patch (for Desktop or Mobile)

You can also see my website for more info, it’s getting updated with a bunch of new stuff early next year…. Stay tuned!
